00 Chevy Silverado Brakesrkidd21 12-01-2007, 11:05 PM I have a 2000 chevy silverado 4x4. slowly my brake pedal travel has increased after bleeding my brakes. When i turn my steering wheel my brakes seem to activate and sometimes when i apply them the abs kicks back at me not allowing me to stop (very scary). HELP:banghead: Sonny01 12-02-2007, 09:26 AM It sounds to me the the brake pedal travel and ABS coming on are two different things. For the ABS problem do a search and you will find many-many threads on ABS problems. Also there is a recall from maybe a year ago on ABS sensors which is what I think your problem is. Contact your dealer and ask about the sensor recall and have your vin# ready to see if it is covered. j cAT 12-03-2007, 04:00 PM I have a 2000 chevy silverado 4x4. slowly my brake pedal travel has increased after bleeding my brakes. HELP:banghead: front wheel speed sensors located under front brake rotors [have a recall in rust belt] rust pushes the sensors out of range of bearing and abs and failure to stop problems occur. Also I hope you did not drain the master cylinder when bleeding , if so you need scan tool to activate the abs to properly bleed system....... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
