will not turn over

2000 grand am se 2.4 with 165,000 miles.
This car has and was running great. One time I went to start it and as I turned the key my hand slipped of the key as soon as it started to engage. Just barely bumped the starter (had a wrist injury at the time).
Went to start it again and it would not turn over. I can turn the key on and bump start it at the starter with a screwdriver, but it will not turn over with the key. I replaced the ignition switch thinking that may have been the problem but it was not. I have also done the pass lock thing. Could it be the starter since I can start it by bumping the starter with a screwdriver?
Thanks

Thanks. I really appriciate the suggestions. I dont think it is the nss. My understanding of the switch is,,,, if the switch is faulty it will not start in park but it will start in neutral.
Actualy I misstated something in my original post. I did not replace the whole ignition switch. I replaced the ignition cyclinder only. Maybe I need to replace the whole switch. Anyways Thanks! I will keep plugging away on it.
