2000 Chevy Blazer Comp Problems?

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer... For some reason the check engine light keeps coming on after an average drive, but not just from idling...

I have a code reader but i cant seem to get it to work at all, it works on my other cars but i get nothing on this one...

To clear the code temporarily i unplug the black and white connectors from the computer, cycle the ignition, then replug them... code is gone, but after a drive it comes back...

I can't seem to figure out why the light is coming on and furthermore why i can't read the codes from the computer...

Could the computer be going out on it? It has less tan 100k miles on it...

Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks :)

You need to use a scanner to read or clear codes.
You can blow VCM/PCM by unpluging it there.
Does the light blink or stay on steady?
If the light comes on you will have a code.
Past ,pressent or history.
Find a good scanner and read codes.
Some auto parts places will read codes for free.
Get the codes and post back code no.

Getting the code is the problem. I have a scanner, it won't work at all. It works in my other cars, but in this one the scanner does nothing...

Does your scanner power up on it?
If not check pin 16 for power and also ground pin for ground.

Or find a auto parts store that reads codes for free and see if there scanner will work on it.

You are welcome.

If you get any code no now post back code no.
And remember the code does not say replace the part but to check it out.
Good Luck
