hi all i need some help, my aunt was driving along with this 93 lumina 3.1 l and she though it stalled cause she was low on gas, she put half tank in and it didnt start, they replaced the plugs, wires, fuel filter, crank shaft position sensor, igm now i went to jump it cause the battery was dead from trying to start it, now correct me if im wrong but when you jump a battery and the terminals are all connected it should use the jumper battery just like it own battery with out having to wait any length of time, now heres what happens when i try to start it, it will show about half on the battery level then when u crank it the thing show nothing and if u hold it u might get one revolution out of it and sometimes it cranks ok then when it acts like its gana start (pops once or twice ) acts like the battery dead again . this is while the jumper cables are still conected , im mistified as to why it wouldnt start we are geting good pressure at the fuel rail

If the battery is really dead leave the jumper car connected and running for 10 minute, fast idle preferably make sure all the connections are good, then crank'er.

you didnt say you replaced any of the coil packs - it sounds eerily similar to my problem but I have a '90 2.5L 4cyl - I replaced, crank positon sensor, ignition control module, both coil packs (4cyl only, 6cyl will have 3 packs), all plug wires and all plugs

you may also want to check the plug wires and make sure they are on the correct coil pack posts as if they arent, you wont have the correct firing sequence and it wont start (a problem I initially had until I got it right)

if this doesnt work for you, I hope someone else can help provide a solution
