1999 Jimmy tune-up

I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy with 112,000 miles on it. Most highway. Only problem was a mass air flow sensor (term ?) about 30,000 miles ago. Synthetic oil since new and periodic injector cleaner (over the counter stuff). No problems and running great, but mileage is possibly down (or is it just the gas prices?).

I am proceeding to do what I should at this point in the mileage and want some suggestions on what to do and what type of person/shop to do the work. I hate the chains where the "advisor" is paid a commission.

Since I do not have the equipment and tools and am physically challenged, I cannot do the work my self.

I assume plugs and wires and possibly something in the distributor if applicable. My wife's 2000 Blazer is about 30,000 miles behind me.

I appeciate all comments.

welcome to af. We have a thread in our FAQ section about this topic: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=453370.
To cover the basics, a full tune up on one of these trucks would be:
- air filter
- fuel filter
- plugs (ac delco platinum 41-932's ONLY)
- plug wires (if they are damaged or are the originals)
- distributor cap and rotor
- pcv valve
- O2 sensors (at your mileage if they have not been replaced, its time)

optional:
- oil change (if not changed recently)
- coolant system flush
- transmission fluid flush

As for shops, ask around your area for reputable shops and ask what they chage for labor as they are all different. Stay away from quick lube places like jiffy lube though.
