Need to replace drive axel oil seal as it is leaking...was wondering if anyone has any experience/advice on this.

One thing I wanted to know was about removing the stub shaft on the passenger side. Book says I need a slide hammer puller - don't have one. Any other ideas on how to remove this?

well engine size help but ...
just remove tie rod from knuckle
then the ball joint as well
remove axle shaft bolt
use zip gun or a centering punch with a hammer on the center of the axle shaft to loose it from the hub and bearing and pry the axle out by pulling the knuckle then place a oil pan below the seal, with a large flat head screwdriver pry the axle shaft in the little groove lil quantity of tranny oil will leak now the touchy part u need to pry out the seal without scratching the housing if you dont have the tool for that carrefully with a pry bar attemp to pry the seal out but pry like in the middle dont try to pry it from behind ur gonna scratch the housing when its out with a light sand paper clean the housing clean it with a towel then put a lil quandtity of sealeant around the new seal i said a SMALL quantity :P then with the tool or a big socket put the new one in place you must not push it crosside it must go down straight just do it smoothly its gonna be ez then put back axle and bla bla bla dont forget to check ur tranny fluid lvl after .. :)
