Cant find DLC connector in engine compartmentgmangatjr 11-18-2007, 04:01 PM Need help people. I own a 98 ford contour SE 2.0L. I know the DLC connector is supposed to be located by the driver side strut housing, but it isnt. I have a check engine light and I want to use the engine light check method to determine the fault code. In order to do that I need to put a short on the DLC connector that is suppossed to be in the engine compartment. . Any ideas?? pre98zetec 11-19-2007, 09:19 PM i have no idea what this 'DLC' connect you speak of is. if you want to get the CEL code the connector is under the dash. driver side/ gmangatjr 11-20-2007, 07:22 AM The DLC connector is the "Diagnostic link connector" I want to use this because I dont have a scan tool, and I dont want to pay a shop 100.00 to read the code. That is why I want to use this primative method. It is a connecter that has a protective cap on it called "eec test". If you find it near your driverside strut housing pleaselet me know where? pre98zetec 11-20-2007, 04:17 PM i beleive those are only on OBD1 vehicles... gmangatjr 11-21-2007, 07:17 AM I found a copy of the chilton manual for my car and it shows a picture of it right where it is supposed to be????
