Help Transmission Problems

I recently had to get my 95 Blazer fixed to comply with Califormia emmisions standards. The mechanic replaced a faulty valve that had been stuck shut. When I first got my car back, is was running rough and I took it back and it turned out thatwhen the valve was shut there had been a build up of carbon that ended up clogging the new valve and not allowing it to close. So the mechanic reinstalled a new valve with a filter on it to stop the carbon from coming though and it ran smoothly again.

I had my car back for about 4 days and then the transmission started pouring out transmission fluid, and now Im looking at a complete transmission overhaul. Could the damage to my transmission be a result of the carbon deposits being flushed through the engine or of the mechanics incompetence in general?

I don't know much about engines, but I feel like this mechanic just screwed up my car.

No way.
Blaming the last person that worked on it is a cop out.
Check it out and find out.
What is leaking on the transmission?
Why do you think you need a complete transmission job?
Where is that leak?

I took my car back to the guy who first worked on it because I thought it was leaking oil and possibly related to his previous work (but it turned out to be transmission fluid). He thought a seal might be broken so he did some work on it but now is telling me I need a complete transmission job and it will be about $2,200 to get my car running again (which is almost as much as I paid for my car).
The reason I think its related to the work hes done is because I hadnt had any problems with my car until I took it to him about two weeks ago and now Im on the verge of having to junk it.

What good is it going to do you to pass the buck to who ever looked at it?
Stand up and face the facts.
If it is broke you need to fix it or trade it or park it.
Good Luck
