F150 Heat or AC but no blower @ any speed

Hello everybody,

I just lined my husband up with a 2003 Ford F150 2wd, 2 door(not extended), 8' box, automatic that has never seen minnesota salt! The undercarriage still had the original factory paint...no rust. This pick up was very difficult to find but I found it. My husband hates the cold. Wouldn't it just figure that as of the night before last the blower motor just up and quit. It was working great on A/C using all blower speeds. It was also working great using heat with all blower speeds. But the blower just quit working suddenly on both heat and A/C. Has anybody had this happen to them?

If the fuses are suspect, does anybody know where the chart is for all of them. On our 1995 F150 the fuse panel comes right off and the chart of what controls what is on the inside of the panel. Is there such a panel on the 2003?

I also have the 2 volume set of the shop service manuals that I bought off eBay. If you could show me where I can find the information about fuses(what page numbers). I located pages 412-00+ for when the blower no longer functions but I guess I need more help.

Please try to describe where most of the things you mention are located when helping me. I really want to help my husband figure this problem out. Thanks for any help.

Hello again,

Here's the update...

The fuses all checked out okay. We looked at the wires underneath the dash near the feet and there was a wire that was disconnected. I had drove a neighbor recently and he had kicked the wire when he got in the truck. I thought it was cold when I drove him around! Now we have heat in the truck once again.

I just inherited my father's 1986 Ford F150, 8cyl. When I turn on the heater fan it immediately blows the fuse. Where do I begin to troubleshoot.

Thanks

ThanksI would begin to look at the ground on the fan itself inside the engine compartment. If its just loose it could cause the fuse to blow. After that I would follow the leads of the fan to the power supply. Somewhere in there is your culprit. Probebly a worn connector or shorting out power line.
