What kind of tires does everyone like on their front-wheel drive Monte Carlos? I need to find a good all-season tire for my 01 SS. There was a light dusting of snow last night and my car was sliding all over with the tires that are on it now. I do alot of highway driving so I want something that's going to get good mileage as well. So tell me what kind of tires y'all like.

You are going to get all kinds of responses! It comes down to the brand you like best. I have always liked Goodyear and Michelins. My 2002 Monte came with Goodyear RS-As. When I had new tires put on I went with the Goodyear RS-A Plus. This tire is a little more expensive but you get a lot more for your money. This tire is used on Police cruisers (Crown Vics and Impalas) and is designed for a little more action. It has a stiffer side wall setting the car up in turns. It also has an aramid overlay belting inside the tire which makes them puncture resistant and flat spot resistant. I have always thought the Monte was a little soft in the corners and these tires made a big difference. You will feel them more in the steering wheel, but overall they are a nice ride. They have a deeper tread and a wider water channel. I have yet to break them loose, and I have had a few opportunities. So far outside of the break-in period I have liked them.
