Code Problems 91 malibu LS 3.1

Hey guys, I got this code po300 "Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected". This guy thought it was blown up so he just sold it for 500 bucks.All I heard was what sounded like loose tappits, so when I got it home I pulled of the front valve cover and two of the rockers were stripped out. I installed some helia coils with some red lock tight and it runs fine. I figured the code was from the cylinders misfiring but they keep poping back up.
Also I get this code of P1655. I called actron and they said it was the "Evaporitive Purge solenoid". I found that on the back of the engine between the firewall and the valve cover. Its pluged in and all looks fine.Can anyone help me out with these two problems. I am new to the site and this is the first post that I think I got right. Thanks George:banghead:
