hello. Ive been searching this topic on wheel noise and so far no luck. My left front tire sometimes, while your driving down the road will make a noise that sounds like a airplane. faster you go louder it will get. so as you slow down it will quiet down and as you come to a stop really slow you can actually hear something grabbing like click click click and then its back into its place and then the noise is gone. my 4 wheel drive locks in fine and sometimes to get the noise to stop i just lock it into 4 high and then back into 2 wheel and noise it gone. But the noise will soon come back. I was told it could be a wheel hub going bad. but iam just not sure. any help would be helpfull at this point. Thanks

Check your half shafts CV joints. And yes it could possibly be a bad hub or bearing, without being able to hear it it's hard to diagnose "clicking" noise problems. Half shafts usually go out more than hubs do. Try there and see what you find.

My hubs went before my axles. The hubs noise was identifiable because it would sound more strongly when I turned one direction and less the other direction. Definitely had that 'airplane' noise though. Clicking is usually an axle joint.
