1986 Won't Turn Over

About 3 months ago I bought my 1986 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with around 112,000 miles on it for $1,000. The Air Conditioner doens't work, and the driver side window is a little fluky (out of track, but can't seem to get it to stay in its track) but ran well. Automatic, 6 Cylinder, 3.0 Liter

Then about 3 weeks ago my timing chain broke. So I bought a new one and everything else that needs to be replaced when it comes to the chain. The chain finally got put on, and all the engine would do is spin. No compression was apparent, so we pulled out the rods and sure enough, they were bent. So we order a set of new rods, pop them in, and while it sounds as though we have compression it still won't turn over. The engine just spins.

The spark plugs are all good, battery has enough ampage, and we tested the fuel lines and pump.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to AF, rods meaning pushrods? You may have bent the valves, do another compression test.

Yes, the push rods. No damage to the springs or rockers though...

Plus, even if the valves were bent, wouldn't there be some kind of popping noise or something to indicate it's trying to start?

We need to pick up an adapter for my dad's compression tester to test them.

Anything else it could be?
