Just wondering if thread that manufacturer uses for seats that contain airbags is yet available on the market yet ?

All manufacturer's want you to buy a new seat cover when airbags deploy from the seam on a seat. It is a easy enough repair for any trim shop if the correct thread was available.

I see they have after market seat covers that will allow this but I have yest to see thread available anywhere yet.

Most systems self diagnose on start up and if all checks are good the lite goes off, A " resetter" is usually not required.

It's not just the thread that is stopping the manufacturers from allowing you to restitch the seat after an airbag (http://http://www.airbagsolutions.com/docs/AirbagModule.pdf) deploys....it's the density of the stitch, the compromised seat cover (already blown out once) and the fact that they may become laible if you do it wrong.
There are always shortcuts to repairing cars (and guys to do it), but when it comes to airbag systems (http://www.airbagsolutions.com/Default.aspx) and saving my family's life, I'd rather trust the manufacturer of the system than the local tailor.

As far a scanners (http://www.airbagsolutions.com/scanner.aspx)go to reset the systems, there are a number of them available. To determine which scanner you need, you need to define which vehicle make you are working on. This is a different scanner than the one Auto Zone uses for the 'check engine' light.
