92 Skylark GS Electronic Shocks, Where did they go?

I did not find a thread on this one and I just ran across this problem. In October, I saw replacement shocks for the 92/93 Buick GS with the electronic shocks and the dashboard control module available in several locations (web sites and auto parts stores). I was working on other repairs and these were located down on the priority list with plans to get to them later. Beginning in November, all the listings for these items have disappeared from all the places at the same time. Apparently they are now discontinued. Now where do I find them? (Without paying more than I paid for the car to get them)

I also have a real problem finding any diagnostic information on this computer controlled ride system. It dos not mention them in any of the repair manuals I have looked at. Do not see them on any of the wiring diagrams I have looked at either. (The one reference I was given turned into a dead end. It did not cover this system.) Not a peep. I would like to confirm where my problem is before I spend big bucks for replacement parts. (If I can find them.)

the system is trying to work. I can here the zip clunk on the right front shock when the car is started and while it is running. (my wife thinks its not normal.) Do not hear it from the left one. The 3 LED lights on the control switch are all on and the car owners manual says this indicates a problem. It does change the ride when I am driving and select soft, sport and auto settings. It also changes the sound or the road noise on some roads. On the soft setting it is squishy and quieter. On the sport setting, the ride is harsher and louder. (steering is sharper as well and the car does not bottom out on the dips and speed humps.)

Any help here? If this is covered in another thread, please refer it to me because I have looked and cannot find it.

I plan to replace all the shocks eventually, and I believe the rear shocks are just a standard type of shock without any controls.

As I am getting everything fixed and working as it should, this car is turning into a good running and enjoyable ride. The performance and economy of this car is exceeding expectations. By a lot. It looks sharp too.

Sometime manufacturers run small runs of parts to see if they will sell or are in need. I'd contact the places you saw them and email or call customer service and see what they can find.

On the diagnostics, you will probly need the GM tech manual for that specific year/make/model.
Check fleabay for used manuals, or Alldata online manuals.

I'd start by inspecting the wires to the shocks and check the shafts on them to see if they are rusty or chewed up.
I dont think I've even had to deal with this crazy system and I have worked on a few in my day.

I'm trying to get my hands on this 69' GS Convert a friend has.....
Nice little 327vette motor , B&B pushing around 400hp +/-. :naughty:
