Headlight Bulbs

Hello,

I have a 1996 Blazer LT.

This may be a stupid question, but how the heck do you change the headlight bulbs on this thing?

I have searched and found step-by-step instructions for the '98 and up models, but not the 1996...

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I think it's the same lights as my -95 but not sure. If it is then do like this:
Stand infront of the car and look at the light. There is a frame around it fastend with 4 screws. Remove the screws and pull out the light assembly, detatch wireing. Now there are 2 possibillities, you can take out the bulb from tha rest or you have to replace the hloe sealed unit. Mine is a european export version so I can replase just the H4 (?) bulb.

Hi,

Thanks Freddy, but that doesn't sound anything like what I have on my '96 - there are no visible screws (looking from the front).

So, I'm still looking for help with this...

Thanks,

Hey,

Thanks for the help, that site seems pretty good... The funny thing is they don't have an example for the '96!

I did get it figured out though... You have to open the hood and look for the two bolts that have the little plastic caps on them above each light. Once you've found them, then it's a whole lot of wiggling to get the light out of the grill to be able to get to the bulbs.

Thanks again.

So it worked something like this, found on the page:
"On 1996-97 models remove the lens assembly as follows:

1. If equipped, remove the plastic caps that cover the headlight retaining pins or screws, then remove the pins or screws while supporting the lens assembly."

Good U got it fixed!

Ha ha -- That's funny!

I just went down to the composite section and followed allong with the bolded years:

1994-95 MODELS
1997-99 MODELS NOT RETAINED BY A LOCKING TAB
1997-99 MODELS RETAINED BY LOCKING TAB

It skips 1996 all together... But you're right, if you read all the text the '96 is included with the instructions for the '97 to '99s.

Thanks again for the help.
