:banghead: The dashboard in my 1993 Z34 is curling up at the defroster and seperating in the front near the instrument panel. Does any body know how to fix this. It appears that there are very few of these that exists without this problem. I have found a few on ebay but don't look to spend that kind of $$$ on one that has problems of it own, ie needs dyed to proper color or isn't quite perfect. Maybe some one has fixed theirs before and would share how they did it. Thanx.

LOL, I think we are on our own with this one - mine is similar only I have a 1990 - I wont bother fixing my dash until I replace radio which wont be until sometime next year - its on my list of things to do when I dont have mandatory repairs to do like right now with my ignition control module

I hope this message finds you in good spirits though and can accomplish it - these cars do look good when they are assembled correctly

Those dash tops come off easy, row of small screws around the front, pry up and clips release that holds the back down. How to fix? either a good one from junk yard, yea right... Or take it to a suto upholestery shop and have a new cover put on. not much else ya can do except buy new if ya can find one.

ahh look at that!! *beautiful*

My previous dash pad was curled horribly. Trust me, there isn't much you can do with it to make it look good. I tried gluing mine down and putting pressure, but that only made the center part bubble up...looked much worse!! I got a much better one now though. It might be possible as someone earlier mentioned, to re-cover it. Carpet perhaps?? I have no clue

same problem on our 3.1 - caused by the sun heating up the glue - just re-glue it with some good marine epoxy, and it will hold.

The reason I say to use marine, is that there can be a lot of moistture there as well, and between that, and the sun, if you just use regular glue, it will not hold.

take your time with it, so you don't end up with a crease... don't push down too hard in any one place, or you will end up with it being uneven... 3 foot board works nice to apply even pressure after you have it just right.

we did ours 7 years ago, and hasn't come back...

Good Luck

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for. Do you remember the specific brand of glue that you used and where it can be bought?

I tried gluing the dash pad on my 90 lumina. It would'nt hold because foam pad was dried out. Went to bone yard and had my choice of good dash pads. The bad ones I seen were lifted in same area, so it's definetly a common problem. The one I took was from a 90 but solid..and only 10 bucks. If it ever does start to lift I know where to go for replacement.

Thanks, I can't find any good ones in my area junk yards. The only good one I found was red and they wanted 75.00 for it. I will keep looking and maybe one will come in.
