1994 F150 5.0L 302 4x4 my friend has a problem with his vehical speed sensor, does any1 know where it might be located. we took off a plate under the carpet yesterday and found nothing on top of the transmission. we went to advance auto and got the sensor earlier yesterday, my friend asked him if he might know where it is and he had called up a friend who works on fords and his friend said it is on drivers side of transfer case. now i came on this site and searced up 1994 f150 speed sensor and read in a forum that some1 said that after about 1992 they placed the sensor on the rear axel but the sensor of the rear end didnt look the same. so after we took the cover off over the transmission and found nothing i went to the rear end and took the connector off and found that it fits in the connector on the new one. this is wut the new one looks like http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=GPS&MfrPartNumber=7799544&PartType=1179&PTSet=A but the one on the rear end is just a electrical connector and his at a 90 degreee angle( like this one for a e150 http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=GPS&MfrPartNumber=7799582&PartType=1179&PTSet=A) as it come out of rear end. does any1 know if this is even the vehical speed sensor? now that i look it might have a different rear end.

The picture in the first link (part#7799544) is for the earlier trucks with the analog speedometer. It went into the trans tail housing/transfer case and the speedometer cable attached to it. If the truck had antilock brakes , some of the earlier trucks actually had two sensors, one on the trans and one on the rear differential for the abs. Later trucks have a different control module in the computer that uses the signal from the differential mounted sensor to control all functions(abs , psom, trans shift points, ....ect) . Your truck should only have one mounted on the rear diff, the one pictured in the second link(part#7799582).
