2000 GC Laredo: Electrical Gremlin, or computer...???sonjar9 11-09-2007, 06:52 PM :screwy: Ok, so I have a 2000 Grand Laredo with the 4.7 and QuadraDrive. A while back I got a code for bad crankcase position sensor. The stealership agreed and replaced to the tune of $200. A little while later, I had the clicking, gauges going up and down, mpg + tripmeter reset to zero, no start problem. Then everything was fine. No codes. I was driving a while later and got an engine light. The code was P0208 Injector#8. Went away the very next time I drove it. A few days later, another code.... P0320 Crank position sensor again.... The light actually went off before I even got the code. It has ran fine since tuesday when it happened. Today (Friday) I tried to start the Jeep and I got the clicking, no start, crazy gauges and reset info again. It did it for about two minutes, then it started up and ran just fine all the way home. I turned the key on off on off on and got code P1594: Charging system voltage too high. Now, my question is, does this sound like just a whole bunch of random electrical problems in a few weeks when I had none for the last 3 years? Or should I be suspecting the computer? It just seems too weird to have this many electrical related problems around the same time. Any ideas??? I have checked the battery connections and they seemed fine. I am going to take them off and clean them up real good anyway and see if that helps. :banghead: andrew_j 11-10-2007, 12:42 PM that last code makes it sound like a bad alternator. they can make things get really weird with your codes and such when they are about to go bad. i would have your alternator tested. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
