1997 Air suspension loud and on at start up

I have a 1997 Eddie B. with air suspension. There is no sagging or warning light on, but the compressor turns on for about 10 seconds right after we start it and begin driving. Sometimes it does that, shuts off, then comes back on for another few seconds again. After those one or two times it comes on after start up it doesn't come on again. It is noisy and feels like the compressor is right under where your feet rest in the passenger seat. What could be the problem? It don't think it could be a serious leak because my suspension would probably be sagging right? I looked under where your feet rest in the passenger seat and don't see a compressor or anything like it. I know it is something to do with suspension because when we begin driving and the sound happens, I reach down and shut off the air ride switch and the sound stops right with it. So it is the compressor I think? Help please.:banghead:

The compressor is located in the engine compartment and in front of the battery. Mine makes more noise now than it did when it was new. Someone told me it was the bushings that wear out and causes the loudness.
As far as the frequency of the pump working: It will get to the point where it comes on more often.

The compressor is supposed to come on at start up to inflate the suspension. as for it cycling on and on again, that might suggest a slow leak. Time to get under truck with a spray bottle of soap water to cover the lines and check for leaks
