'87 s-10 will start if gas is poured in tbi unit or sometimes it will start by its self. the problem is when I get it to start it will run for a couple of seconds and die, if you press the accelerator it will die. It idles very rough when it will idle, I don't know fuel pressure but it will shoot out of the hose about 2.5" when disconnected from tbi. I've tried everything the Chiltons book said to and still no luck.:banghead:

Check the fuel pressure, TBI systems need 9psi to 13psi when the pump is running and the engine is off.

what is the proper tool to check fuel pressure on tbi? like I said if you disconnect the fuel line from the tbi and turn key on or jump relay, it will shoot gas about 2.5" out of the line with no pulsation. It runs as if it is flooded but will not take throttle, seems as if the pulses from injectors are too much fuel to idle but if I disconnect one injector it will not run. How many relays should be on drivers side fender because I have 2 relays and an extra plug in.

It would probably be best to visit your local auto parts store and ask what fuel pressure guages they carry. Most guage sets will fit GM fuel injection systems other than TBI. Make sure it will fit the TBI system before you buy one. I can't answer your question about the relays without a picture or the wire colors in each plug. It might be the ECM power relay and the fuel pump relay, but that's just a guess.
