1996 Skylark starter relay ?

I cannot get any power to the starter on my Skylark. The battery is new, and both the starter motor and the solenoid check good. My local auto parts store said the problem was likely in the starter relay switch, but that part was a dealer item. My local Buick dealer says the vehicle has no such relay.
Anyone got any idea? Thanks

not familiar with your model, but does it have a chip in the key for anti-theft?

Call your dealer's service center again and ask them about any recalls for your vehicle. I have a '95 Skylark GS and I had a recall done where GM installed a relay to prevent too much current from melting the ignition switch. However, the recall didn't cover replacement of the ignition switch.

It had a problem with the ABS light coming on for no reason and it turned out to have a problem with the ignition switch, so that may be damaged even though you can still start the car.

Maybe you could check the alternator too.

Thanks for the replies,
I don't think the theft detection is the problem, and I am not getting any power to the hvac blower motor either. Also, the alternator is new.
