96 Camry trailer wiring lmei007 11-01-2007, 07:29 AM
Hi, I installed a trailer hitch onto my 96 Toyota Camry few days ago. Now I am trying to figure out how to do the wiring for trailer lights. The trailer is a small trailer, 4x6, with four or two lights. I did some research online. Looks like for 96 Camry, the recommendation is using a modulite or powered converter. In the local autozone, they only have normal converter. I am wondering is it ok just use the normal converter? the difference between the modulite or powered converter and the normal converter is whether getting power directly from battery or not (I maybe wrong). With only four or two lights, is it necessary to get power from battery directly? Another thing is I cannot find detailed step by step instructions for how to wiring the camry trailer. Is there anybody here can give me more detailed info on where to connect the wire on the vehicle and .... It will save me time and provent me from unnccessary mistakes. thanks Mike Gerber 11-01-2007, 03:20 PM I would try a few of the hitch and/or trailer wiring manufacturer's websites. They may have the information you need. Reese Products used to have a good website, but I haven't been to it in a few years. There is also Master Hitch and a few others I can't hink of. Maybe the Autozone website has some information on it. Mike Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
