Hello all,

I have a 2003 Grand Cherokee, that has an electrical issue. First off I had a check engine light, and I found a broken vacum line going to the purge valve. I fixed that, and in the process of resetting the computer I found that the positive post of the battery was turning in its socket. I took the cables off the battery and found the negative side was cracked and corroded, and that the positive side battery post came right out of the battery! I just put a new battery in and changed the negative side post connector, and all seemed well. BUT now and very intermittantly the Jeep will just loose ALL electrical power, clock resets, mileage computer goes to zero miles per gallon, no dome lights, no horn, no start, etc etc. If I turn it off and back on it starts normally and all is well. ANY ideas, or has someone seen this before?

Sounds like a ground or connection problem to me.

Think I would have replaced both the red and black cables as well as the battery and cleaned all the connections in the process.
