Locked my keys in my '99Powellds 10-29-2007, 02:16 AM Does anyone know how to get in without hurting anything?? I have a spare car for now, but I locked BOTH sets of keys inside if you can believe that. HELP. amigo-2k 10-29-2007, 09:32 AM is the rear door unlocked? anthonyn 10-29-2007, 11:31 AM Don't know for sure if this will work, but you can try calling the ISUZU 24 hour roadside assistance number 1-800-444-0303. They generally dispatch a local tow truck. Many if not most, have the tools needed to unlock the car. I don't know how long we get this service, but a few years ago my rodeo's battery died and I didn't have a towing company's number handy, so I found the roadside assistance # in the glove box, and they dispatched the tow truck and it didn't cost me anything. mapua82 10-29-2007, 11:33 AM http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lock-picking.org/images/slim-jim.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.lock-picking.org/slim-jims.html&h=232&w=150&sz=4&hl=en&start=72&um=1&tbnid=pgYlNl4LCxvXIM:&tbnh=109&tbnw=70&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcar%2Bdoor%2Bunlocker%26start%3D60%26 ndsp%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN 1. Some dollar stores have it. 2. Some mechanic have it, borrow it. 3. Will trigger your alarm-what the heck, you need those keys. Gizmo42 10-29-2007, 11:53 AM Coat hanger will work to pop the lock up. Its tricky to get enough grip on it though. And it will scratch paint and possibly tear the weather stripping. If you dont have a slim jim (I have one I made from a metal yard stick) or dont know anyone with one your best bet is probably a lock smith. andrew_j 10-29-2007, 02:51 PM ^agreed lock smith is the best way to go anthonyn 10-29-2007, 03:25 PM Also check your tailgate....I often leave it unlocked. Powellds 10-29-2007, 09:34 PM Hey, I just got home from work and still no keys. I have a slim jim, are there any schematics on the locking mechanism on the door I can look at without buying a chiltons or Haynes? Lemme know. Thanks for the help thus far, I would rather do it myself then anyone else or a locksmith. Thanks guys. anthonyn 10-29-2007, 10:36 PM Powellds 10-30-2007, 01:14 AM anthonyn 10-30-2007, 01:28 AM pharm_rodeo 10-30-2007, 03:41 AM No offense to the OP, but I wouldn't instruct someone online how to gain entry to our Rodeos. I'm sure the OP did lock both sets of keys in his/her truck, but calling a locksmith is the best option. I'm sure some of you make think I'm being paranoid, but sometimes that's a good thing. Do you really believe someone inclined to break into cars, who has a Slim Jim, needs this forum to teach him how to break into Rodeos/Passports? I'll appreciate having seen this image the next time I lock myself out. Which seems to happen to me quite a bit. I usually use a coat-hanger, but I always scratch the paint. pharm_rodeo 10-30-2007, 08:31 AM Do you really believe someone inclined to break into cars, who has a Slim Jim, needs this forum to teach him how to break into Rodeos/Passports? Obviously. Do you really think obtaining a slim jim or making one is that hard? Hell I own a slim jim but someone has to teach me to pop the lock on a particular model. There are thieves trolling automotive boards to gain some advantage in stealing cars. I see them on Acura/Honda boards all the time. BTW, if you're locking yourself out that often, then you have some issues that need to be addressed. :grinno: Powellds 10-30-2007, 05:21 PM Hey, I understand, but I am not trying to learn how to break in to steal anyones car. I just didn't want to spend anymore on a locksmith. But really, if someone wanted to break into any car, there isn't anything stopping them except motivation. XR400R 10-30-2007, 06:46 PM BTW, if you're locking yourself out that often, then you have some issues that need to be addressed. :grinno: Quite possibly. But if you're that paranoid over a diagram that anyone & his brother can easily obtain from any number of service manuals easily available over the web as well as through retail, I would submit that you have a few issues to deal with yourself! BTW, how do you spot a car thief hard up enough to have to haunt the forums to figure out how to steal a car? Gizmo42 10-30-2007, 06:46 PM There's nothing special about breaking into a rodeo. I was able to use a slim jim my first time without anyone showing me (just did what I saw in the movies). If they cant figure out how to use one they'll just break out the window. I usually put a hide-a-key somewhere on my vehicles just to be sure. But I think the one I had on my rodeo fell off on a trail somewhere. I need to find a better place to put one. rwhemme 11-23-2007, 03:47 PM I recently locked my keys in my Rodeo and there was absolutley NO WAY I was going to shell out my hard earned cash for a lock-smith, and I know the local PD wouldn't do it since I have power door-locks. A coat hanger was the way to go, so if you're scratching your paint, you probably aren't holding your mouth right as there is a trick to it :iceslolan, but yes, just slide it in and pull :uhoh: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
