1998 base model. noticed when in park with warm motor it seems to slightly speed up and then slow down. car has new wires and plugs etc. intake manifold job a few months ago . gets 17 mpg with a heavy foot in city driving with a/c on .

Try cleaning ghe throttle body and iac, look for any vacuum leaks.
