It would cost plenty unless you had a doner truck for parts. Also if you can do the labour yourself would save money. I have always heard if you want a standard tranny the cheapest way would be to sell yours and buy one with a standard in it.

:1: It's been discussed for several makes; cheaper to just buy the model with the trans you want already in.

But it's possible....depending on how much you have/want to spend.
