Need key code for 99 cavaliergeminicmy 10-22-2007, 06:01 PM Hi my keys were stolen and seems I cant get a key code for my car from the Toyota dealers here. They were not on the door locks and the combinations have now been changed as I got new keys for them. Can anyone help me please?:banghead: shakewell 10-22-2007, 09:19 PM I don't understand what you meanabout the "combinations", but you should be able to get a key made at a chevy dealer if your locks are original. I think for any model after 1995 they can call in and get the key code and sell you a key, but not the code. You will have to prove ownership as well. The Toyota dealer probably doesn't have authorization to call it in. geminicmy 10-23-2007, 01:39 AM Hi thanks for the reply but Im in NZ and was told the only way I could get a key or a code is to be standing in front of GM in America.:disappoin Classicrocjunkie 10-23-2007, 12:52 PM Hi thanks for the reply but Im in NZ and was told the only way I could get a key or a code is to be standing in front of GM in America.:disappoin Do a web search/ google/ or what ever you choose to use and find a GM Dealership on the west coast of the United States. Call them, explain you live in New Zealand and you own a Toyota Cavalier. They will be dumb founded as first, all of em are and have been when i've gone looking for toyota cav parts here in the US. If you Give them your Vin #, they should be able to laser cut one for you. If thats not the case, try finding a Holden, Opel dealership and see if they can do it for ya. Next option, try and contact this place. http://www.street-line.net/ they import a lot of toyota cavalier parts from japan and might be able to help you out. Next option, try and find new Ignition key cylanders in a pair. I had a whole set out of 03 parts car, but i ditched the doors so i only have the ignition cylander and none matching doors, trunk. If your still stumped and can't figure anything out, let me know. I'll see what i can do for ya. Classicrocjunkie 10-23-2007, 12:54 PM Here are the keys actually... http://www.street-line.net/jdm/toy_cav/parts/toykey.htm if you have an original which i hope you do, just find a key cutter and have them match it. geminicmy 10-23-2007, 04:35 PM Thanks honey for all that info, I will definetly do all you suggest, but since you have a 99 cavalier as well couldnt you get the key code of that one as I dont have the original but I found they are all very similar or could you get me one cut and I will pay you.:runaround: TooMuchRock 10-23-2007, 06:26 PM I was able to get a new key made from the vin number at my local chevrolet dealership for about $8. They simply asked me to show my insurance to prove the car was mine. shakewell 10-23-2007, 07:20 PM since you have a 99 cavalier as well couldnt you get the key code of that one as I dont have the original but I found they are all very similar This is a joke right? Classicrocjunkie 10-24-2007, 01:18 AM Thanks honey for all that info, I will definetly do all you suggest, but since you have a 99 cavalier as well couldnt you get the key code of that one as I dont have the original but I found they are all very similar or could you get me one cut and I will pay you.:runaround: They only key code that will exist is in your Vin #. You need that + a new key and a dealership to cut it. If you can find someone with an old style key cutter, they are actually numbered 0-9 in a sequence of 6-7 i think. Get the #'s and have someone do it that way. geminicmy 10-24-2007, 03:29 PM No jokes here, just a bit of desperation I think.:naughty: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
