Seville SLS very weak power

Just bought a 94 seville SLS with the 32V Northstar, great engines, except the one i got. i have replaced all the plug, fuel filter, ICM checks fine, fuel pressure is about 40psi and each cylinder compresses about 180psi, no check engine light, there isnt a cat on the car so obviously it isnt plugged up, and the O2 sensor i s before the cat. and i am still getting no power from this thing, even when in park i can rev it and it just acts to bogged down, does this through all RPMs any other ideas what could be causing such a big problem like this?:banghead:

A faulty MAP sensor? Did you check the engine codes? I don't think a MAP sensor failure will set off the service engine light.

just took the car over to a friend of mine to hook up to his scanner, showing some weird information tho, like the Air intake temp is 202 degrees F and it only threw a couple codes, first was the coolant temp sensor low output or short circuit, then there was TCS PWM malfunction, and just the it was running lean. also it was kind of weird that the computer read the vehicle speed at 124MPH and obviously i wasnt even moving, i dont know whats up with this thing, by as much power that is missing it seems like it would be more mechanical but i dont know what i could be missing

Check to see what the cars diagnostic mode displays for codes. Check out this website for info on how to do that:

well decided i didnt have the equipment to check out the electrical for this thing so i took it to a local mechanic and they spent 2 hours looking at it to see what they could come up with. only thing they found was that the p047 and p107 were related and that it would most likely be my problem, so he gave me a printout of the wiring schematic and a small page of troubleshooting for those 2 codes, qich basically says check the wiring between the PCM and BCM but not sure where they put those for this car?:runaround: also i was trying to find the coolant temp sensor and the air intake temperature sensor but cant find it...

The code for the throttle angle too high, might be from a buildup of carbon on the butterfly. Have you checked or cleaned the TB? It could also be from a bad TPS, since there are 2 history codes for it.
The PCM is in the passenger side kick panel on the right side. You need to remove the panel in the footwell under the glove box to see it and get access to it. The BCM is in the trunk, behind the panel for the back seat. It's accessible from inside the trunk.

Ha brace yourself for this, i took off a plastic casing that covers the fuses in the engine compartment by the TB to make more room and took the TB off and cleaned it, replaced the TPS since it was only $20 and put it back together, same problem, no changes, was pissed, but i happen to look down at the fuses not sure why because i had already checked them, and i seen one 10amp mini fuse with the little nipple on the top for when it blows its suppose to light up, well it was all bent sideways im guessing from me leaning on it or some tools leaning on it while i was doing the TB, i pulled it out and looked it it, it was blown but not in the usual spot, it came off right down at the bottom by one of the terminals, so i replaced it and WOW took it out for a spin doin burnouts around every corner, cant believe that this was the problem the whole time CHECK YOURS FUSES!

oh yea one other thing i just noticed, it isnt going into overdrive, only up to 3rd?

So what was that fuse for? Very strange that was the problem!

I'm not sure about the 3rd gear problem. Is the linkage ok, it clicks into D and not 3rd? Any new codes come up?

the fuse was for the PCM(IGN)
the linkage seems fine it goes into each one its suppose to :(

Try flushing the trany and check the fluid you drain. Theh sls had a 4L60e or 4L80e trans. Both of these trans had problems with an exhaust check valve problem sticking when they get older. The next thing is the "60" version had a prblem with loosing OD gear like the luminas and monte carlos of these years. The problem would be loss of OD and problems with reverse cuased by an internal weak drive cage for the gear sets that would go out. Thsi might help.
