RM Power Door Lock And Window Motor Replacement Question(s)

My '93 has the rear passenger side door lock out, and the rear drivers side window motor out. I have a '92 car sitting next to it for parts.

Figured out how to get the door panel off, and pulled the power door lock from the '92. I'm a little curious as to the "correct" method for releasing the tabs of the door panel up next to the window. I basically forced it upwards and it let go, but this can't be a factory approved method. Once I figured out those tabs were keeping the panel from lifting (after it was off), it looks like a screwdriver inserted up in there and pressed against the back side of the tab might release it. What's the correct method?

Drilled out the rivets for the power door lock. I'm planning on using some appropriate sized screws and some LocTite in place of rivets. Good plan, or is there a better solution?

Although the window sliders are not broken, I'm thinking of replacing them while I'm in there. Go for it?

Now for the window motor: First, are window motors door agnostic? I.e., if I pull the right side motor from the '92, can I use it for the left side motor in the '93? The right side of the '92 is bashed in and the door can't be opened (until I take a Sawzall to it).

Second part: More rivets (dang you, GM)! I'm sure I can Dremel the old rivets out, and use screws to hold the motor in. What do they do at a shop? Re-rivet? It looks like the end of the rivet is threaded or serrated, and the riveting tool must work from the interior side of the door. I'm only familiar with pop-rivets, so I'm unclear if these require special tools, or a regular rivet tool.

And again on this side, planning to replace the window sliders while I'm in there.

So basically the questions boil down to these: Appropriate method to release door panel at the top near the window. Screws + nuts + LocTite instead of rivets for power door locks? Are window motors door agnostic? Re-rivet or screws + nuts + LocTite for the window motor? Replace window sliders even if not broken yet?

(Believe it or not, I'm quite mechanically inclined. I just prefer to do these things the "correct way", instead of some jack-leg shade-tree mechanic with a six-pack way). And service manuals? They don't exist anymore...
