Hello all again and especially denisb- Ok I tried to fade the stereo and I couldnt get any rear speakers. So I put the marine stereo in from my '90 Nissan 1690 BR boat. I hooked up the rear speakers just like in the boat and still no rear speakers. I found an amp or booster underneath the front passenger seat. A friend of mine told me that someone bypassed that amp for some reason as they had put in a '96 Sanyo stereo. I found a plug-in on the back of the stereo that said rear sub speakers but there was no cables. There is an another pin-type plug with the original wire harness for the stereo itself. I am wondering if this would be the rear speaker hook-ups. Can anyone help? And then how would I hook them up?

You can jumper some wires to bypass the amp. So if you unplug your amp connector (should be a connector with 7 pins one side and 5 on the other) then look to see if you get the following wire colors going down the 7 pin side and starting from the empty connector.

Empty, black, Gray/Red, Gray, Green, Orange, White/Blue and the other side going upWhite, Green/Black, 2 blank spots, Green/White and Brown Black.

If this is your configuration, then you want to jumper as follows.

Gray/Red to White
Gray to Orange
Green to White/Blue
Green/Black to Orange/Blue

If you want the actual PDF of the connections let me know and I can e-mail them to you.

Do you mean the connector on trhe amp under the seat or on the back of the stereo? There was no cable on the back of the stereo just 2 audio in jacks it looks like. Can I jumper from audio jacks to wires or do I need a new wire harness?

Some year pathys have different connectors, so make sure the wire colors are the same.

It would be the connector on the amp under the seat. If you go to an auto parts store you might be able to find crimp connectors that would fit into the connector pins and make 4 jumpers eliminating cutting up the harness.

Another option that might also be more simple is just running new wires from your stereo to your rear speakers. I know it consists of taking panels off, but...

There is a jumper that is installed on vehicles without the amp, but no part # in the manual for it, you could check at the dealer to see if it can be ordered.
