Hi,

here another project :screwy: :

My idea for this model was to create a racecar, that could participate in the FIA GT1 class, however looking very similar to the street car like the Saleens, not so much widened like the Ferrari 550 / 575.

Anyway, the rear fenders were widened a little bit for the huge tires.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6333303936373933.jpg

The engine cover was widened a little bit, too

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3736383564376539.jpg

... the openings for the exhaust were closed, new ones were drilled in front of the rear wheels

No Robi,

I started the model some time ago, this one in your posting came to the internet in the last 2 weeks.

So mine will be a "What-If" model ;-))

Hi,

a little bit more about the body:

I got some resin louvers, that I fixed on the engine-cover

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6139303430326635.jpg

The diffusor was cleaned, later I´ll add a racing-part.

Hi,

@ Mike: the louvers I got from a friend, he cast them the 06 Viper.

@ Lownslow: these rings are part of a "Renaissance BBS 18" 99 (Panoz)" wheel set.

How different is your conversion from the KA Models "722" conversion kit? I noticed the rear fenders will end up being different.

Hi,

@ ScaleCentral: the KA 722 is a street model, mine is for motorsport.

Here some progress:

Dashboard was cleaned and the lower parts shortened.

I am by no means a Mercedes SLR fan.
But your build is awesome. In fact, in the end I might even like the SLR... But just.

But here's some awesome building going on.
Very enjoyable.

I hope I didn't miss it, but how did you achieve that rough finish of the dashboard ?
I've seen several ways of creating this kind of texture in other threads (like Huudo's 307), but your solution seems different.
Could you tell me how you did it ?

Hi,

I use Microballs, kind of rough powder for the RC-modelling. I handle it like flocking, then I cover it with back again.

Interesting. Can't wait to see a fitting test with the polished body, quite BRAVO!

If I'll say something electric wires seems a bit ovesized, anyway the interior appeal is neat.

Sean,

I am not totaly sure about it, but I think it comes from RC-modelling, a powder you use with glue for more sability or to fill small gaps. I got some from a friend.

But, I saw some guys, using flour instead, and that seems to work as well

I like it a lot. The only thing that looks odd is the rear end diffuser. It seems to be too big and I think, if you shorten it a little, it will fit the looks of this car a lot better. But of course - that is only if you go for looks - as racing is nothing concerned with looks!
