Daytime Running lights (99 CAMRY) acarapella 10-17-2007, 09:16 PM
I've driven this car for almost 90,000 miles now and am sick of the lights always being on. As some of you may know the 1999 camry is the only one with day time running lights that cannot be turned off; 1997-8 didnt have DRLs and 2000-1 had a switch position for DRL OFF (I believe). Now, if i put my emergeny break up and turn the car on with the lights off, the DRLs never come on. So i shorted the E brake sensor to tell the ecu the break is on, and that worked, but the BRAKE indicator light was always on. when i changed the color of my guage lights from yellow to blue (absolutly worth the time), i took out the bulb for the BRAKE indicator; the car figured out what i was trying to do now the lights come on again. Any suggestions? i want to get HIDs so getting rid of the DRLs would be really, really helpful. thanks Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
