I have a '94 Blazer 4x4 4 door with a 4.3 liter v6. This summer the vehicle was running fine other than the fact the 4WD didn't work the transmission shifted fine. Then all the sudden one night I came over a hill at about 60 and it just started slipping in high gear ever since. 1st gear worked for a few days as well as second but it wouldn't shift higher it would just slip if you put it in drive or overdrive. Now it will start and reverse works, and I'm pretty sure it just has 2nd gear but it will move forward and drive still. My first question is what do you think this is? Could it possibly be just changing the tranny filter and oil or is it fatal? And if it is fatal I have a '93 Blazer with a 4.3 v6. Will the transmission out of that fit in the '94?

A fluid & filter change very likely would've fixed your problem but it's doubtful now.
If the '93 trans has the same wirng as the '94, it'll likely work...with new fluid and filter while you're changing them out.

The transmission filter should have been changed a long time a go.
How long since last service on transmission fluid?
Have you checked the fluid level?
Have you checked the computer controls or for code?
If codes post back codes.

The '93 will work in the '94 and vise versa, provided its an electricronic transmission, you replace it with the same (4L60E). In '92 to '94, both flavors of transmissions were used. If you have a Vortec CPI( W code engine), then you have a electronic transmission.

Before you go through the whole process of changing your transmission though, follow what MT mentioned, it could be something thats fairly simple to get your tranny back in order.
