What tranny do I have?mightymouse466 10-12-2007, 01:13 AM 92 F150 XLT 302 Automatic. How can I find out what tranny I have. I recently painted my truck so now I do not have the original stickers inside the door jam. The shift indicator reads: OD, D, 1 Torch 10-12-2007, 02:16 AM Check the data plate on the side of the tranny it should tell you. tony36 10-18-2007, 11:26 PM Go to LMC.com click on the catalog for your year of truck, the online catalog shows how to visually id your tranny. wafrederick 10-20-2007, 06:38 PM Their two automatics for that year, the E40D and the AOD.The AOD is cable opperated and went to electronic in 1993 which is called the AODE.Look on the dash for a switch.Go under the truck and see what the pan looks like is another way. slash09 10-27-2007, 04:27 AM Most likely an AOD. AOD's have the OD-D-1, where E4OD's have the OD-2-1. E4OD's have an O/D OFF switch. AOD/AODE's have a bell shaped pan; E4OD pans look like a rectangle with an S shape in the back(kinda like a long C6). AOD's have a TV cable which connects to the throttle body, AODE and E4OD's have an electrical switch. Also the AOD's have a mechanical speedo (cable) and AODE and E4OD's have a sensor so there would be wires instead of a cable. I think.:wtf: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
