signal switch going bad...or "flasher"??

'93 3.1L. Seems to be a common lumina problem.. I had my turn signal switch replaced a little over a year ago. Signal works just fine turning right. But when going left, sometimes it works, sometimes you have to hold the lever just right to make it flash. Does this sound like the switch is going bad again? Someone told me that it could be a flasher going out...much cheaper:grinyes:

Not the flasher if you can manipulate the lever and make it work.

I have seen cars where one side would fail to flash and a new relay fixed it, but the actual problem was elsewhere in the circuit, the new relay was just able to cope with the incorrect impedance that was causing the problem...you know, like how they won't flash in one direction if you have enough bulbs out on that side? Except in the ones I'm talking about there was no obvious cause for it, but I suspected it might be in the switch, like you have.

So try a relay, it may be a temporary fix...
