this air suspension system has drivin me nuts for years. replaced the compressor 2x. fixed some wiring issues............now the f'n thing is sagging
once again. does anybody know if there is a way to inflate the system using a compressor other than the one under the hood?

i figure i should be able to tap into the system somewhere and inflate the damn bags manually.

anybody have any suggestions?

i'll never buy another ford product again. i loved this truck for the first couple yrs but i have had nothing but issues with it lately.

wait till your spark plug flies out of the block when you least expect it. trust me - it will.

Sure, you can tap the air lines.
Just follow them from each shock.
The rear air bag shocks have solenoids at the shock so you need to energize them in order to allow air to flow I think.
The front shocks are more normal and you should be able to follow the air lines back to a tee and fill at that point.

If you are going through compressors then I'd suspect you have a leak.
My 99 had several leaks and most were at the "T" or "Y" fittings in the small 1/8 inch air tubing.
I simply took apart each fitting and replaced the "O" rings in each and all has been fine since.
I also used a o ring lube product which is basically a non hardening silicone gel.
Since all this I have been riding level and the compressor does not run often.
I used a bubble leak detector on kmine called Big Blue.
It is used for finding refrigeration leaks in AC systems but works great for the air shocks on the ford!

I'd try and fix it before you give up as it is a good system when working properly!
