I have a 01 Deville with a clunking sound in rear mainly on bumps. It sounds like a truck. I installed new Delco rear air shocks , new factory upper shock mount and exhaust mounts. Noise is still there. I rode in trunk and sounds like noise is coming through the right rear shock. This is the second pair of new Delco shock and no difference. The rear tie rod ends have no play and the control arm bushings seem good. The holes in muffler hangers seamed oblong and might have helped a little but still no good. Any Ideas?

You rode in the trunk!??? How was that experience? lol!
Anyways, I'm guessing it would be a bushing, like for the sway bar. If the sway bar has end links, they are known to make clunking noises when they get old.

Do you notice it around corners also? Might be the bushings
