I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee, and my headlight switch needs replacing. I had directions on how to do it from Autozone.com, and the new part even came with instructions.

However, the switch is so hard to get to, and I couldn't figure it out. Is there a trick to getting it out?

There's a release pin you need to push.

Since that only releases the actual knob, and not the actual mechanical part that is the headlight switch, that answer is not really helpful.

I have found what I needed on another forum. Thank you very much for your attempt at help.

What would be helpful next time is a more detailed description of your issue. Vague descriptions often get answers that don't help.

Glad you got it resolved.

I thought that "headlight SWITCH", rather than "headlight KNOB" would have been sufficient enough for anyone to understand, given that the SWITCH is the part that needs replaced. (you know, BEHIND the dashboard).

I guess as a woman, I'm not supposed to know much about cars. Guess what? I DO! And I fixed it, all by my little self, with no help. :shakehead
