2001 Jeep Cherokee speedometer acting strange

i have a jeep cherokee 2001 and its speedometer is acting really crazy it jumps for from 50 to 10 to 20 mph i checked all the fuses and also the car tends to stall at times HELP PLEASE!!:)

anyone have any ideas

The Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) sends a signal to the powertrain control module via a WT/OR (those are the colors) single wire. The ground is important here.
The PT control module sends a signal to the instrument pack via a twisted pair wire.
Some ideas:

I would check the VSS for debris, I believe it is magnetic
Then I would check the instrument pack..take it out of dash
Then I would check the single wire to the PT control module
Could just be a bad speedo unit itself.
