2000 Blazer No Lower Rear Brake or Turn Signal Lights
bhesson 09-25-2007, 05:20 PM Hi, it just happened suddenly today. I have no lower rear brake lights and no turn signals. The rear running lights work as does the upper brake light at the top of the vehicle. When I use the turn signals, nothing at all on the dash and nothing at all on any of the turn signals. I checked the fuses in the door and fuses under the hood and all are fine. I checked the rear bulbs and all are fine. I checked the Flasher switch behind the glove compartment and replaced it prior to knowing I also had no lower rear brake lights and it didn't help. Any suggestions? MT-2500 09-26-2007, 09:22 AM Have you checked bulbs? Check at rear tail lights for 12 volts to it on brake light or turn signals. bhesson 09-26-2007, 01:48 PM Thanks for your reply, all the bulbs are good but I figured out the problem after searching here today. The hazard switch in the turn signal multifunction unit is fried. I wedged a match pack into the switch and all of the lights are working now. I also called the dealer hoping tp get it covered under the recall but I had already had the unit replaced in 2003 as part of the recall so they won't fix it again for free. I ordered a new Delco unit for $120 and will get it installed next week. BTW, how difficult is it to replace the switch? bhesson 09-28-2007, 06:54 PM Anyone know how difficult it is to replace the multifunction turn signal switch unit on a 2000 Blazer with tilt? I have the replacement part and I see two mounting screw holes and one wiring harness connection. It doesn't look too difficult but I'd like to know if anyone has done one and anything I need to watch out for while installing it. Thanks ... MT-2500 09-29-2007, 11:17 AM It is a piece of cake. Just do not blow air bag. Always disconnect battery when working on wires. Good luck MT AutomotiveHelper.com, Copyright ©2013
