Spray some penetrating oil on it and let it sit for about an hour. Take a hammer and a block of wood and rap it a few times. Don't hit it directly with the hammer or the alloy clutch housing may shatter. That should loosen it up if that is the nature of your problem.

well i dont have to truck now to work on it
he took it to a garage but its in repairs still they cant figure it out

so what would i have sprayed penitrating oil on? though and what would i have hit the clutch? ud hit the fuel distrubtor or the water pump? or ud have to take that out the distrubtor?

i dunno this first disel truck i worked on and shit do i ever wanna work on another

is that common how to fix it by tapping it? is it the bolt jammed the gear? or how does it work or what not i dunno

I may have misunderstood. I thought you were talking about the fan clutch on the end of the water pump shaft. You know, the fan that runs behind the radiator. The clutch on it has fins and it only comes on when you are idling and it goes off at highway speeds to save on gas. Anyway a good rap with a hammer has solved many a problem.
