I have a 1988 735i (E32) with 80K miles. The SRS light blinks for a couple of minutes after I start the car and then it is constantly on. The connector for the passenger side impact sensor (in the engine copartment) had disintegrated when I was cleaning around it. Even though the connection was still tight, however exposed, is when this started happening. I have soldered a new connector to the harness and it still did not fix the problem. Since then I have replaced the sensor itself twice (once from ebay and then new from the dealer) and it is still not fixed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bilal

A good code scan would help, but, barring that, a bad clockspring will also trigger the SRS light.

What is a clockspring?

Clockspring is the device that looks like a big wind up clock spring, sits behind the airbag module on steering column and keeps electrical continuity as you turn the steering wheel. On my '88 I had a continual air bag light and I had to replace the clock spring to cure this problem.
