Newbe, can you recommend a manual catswon 09-15-2007, 11:41 AM
Just purchased a 77 B, can you recommend what repair manual I should purchase. I have a 17 year old son that wants to help me keep it up. (good father and son project) Car seem to be in great shape but it is 30 years old and I know I will need one soon. Thanks KimMG 09-15-2007, 02:09 PM The factory workshop manual also known as the Bentley manual. Available from almost any book seller. Amazon, Ebay, Moss, Victoria British http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29468 There are also reprints of the shop manual available on CD, http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=48439 The Moss Motors catalog is also helpful and has some technical articles. catswon 09-17-2007, 03:40 PM Thanks Flash75 09-18-2007, 05:01 AM The shop manual or the Bentley copy of the manual is good but it was printed for trained mechanics and many steps and techniques are very brief or omitted assuming a mechanic would know what to do. Is does not have photos but it does have well illustrated drawings. If you have a rubber bumper car you really need both manuals. The Haynes MGB manual covers cars from 62-80 and is written for the less experienced. It has photos for reference as well as parts drawings. I feel it should be in any beginning MGB owner's library. It's available at major book sellers and should cost less than $20. Clifton Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
