Hello All,

Just recently I have been having some flakey turn signal issues.
I have been doing some research today and came to the conclusion that it is NOT related to the recall on the 2001's i don't think...

The turn signal will work fine for some time and then it will stop.

Durring this time the hazards work fine and does not affect the turn signal issue.

Thinking it was a bad switch(the one on the stearing column that has both turn signal and windshield washer controls), i purcased a new one and installed it last night.

My wife informed me today (not exactly in the nicest tone :frown: , as we spent $200 on the switch) and said that the problem was not resolved.

It doesn't seam to have any rhyme or rythem...at one point last week it went days without failing and now it has become more frequent.

I don't know what else to do/look for...I will probablly be spending my night in the dog house tonight so please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

Thank you

If the signal is not working at all when you turn it on... then you are looking at putting in a new hazard switch in the dash. They common wear out over time causing the signals not to work.... That would be what i would look into.

Would that be true even if the hazards work fine?

Yes it could be true... It starts out as the signals not working... then eventually the 4-ways will stop working. I just had a similar occurance on our saturn vue... replaced the flasher switch and it has worked ever since...

Firstly, thank you for your quick responses...

Do you know if there are any walkthrews or illistrations on the installation of this switch?

Thank you

sounds more like a bad multi function switch.

DO a search for that multi function switch in the GA forums and you willl find answers fot this . Might be a pick or two...

To remove the face plate around the radio, hvac etc in order to get to the hazard switch, You need to pry the face plate off... The best place to start off is at the cigarette lighter area then slowly move up. You will pop off the ring around the ingition so don't worry about that. Once you got it off you can remove and replace the switch. Then just do the reverse for installation. Good luck

Hey Xi... I suggested the hazard switch since he already replaced the multi funciton switch already.
