I have a 1992 E150 351 that won't fire. When I was backing up the other day it died and the "amp" light came on. After that it would crank, but not turn over. I smelled something electronic, ozone, from under the dash but could not find anything hot or burning. I had it towed to the dealer who said it was the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel solenoid (?). I wanted to know if any of the fuel electronic equipment is located under the dash near the fuse box or steering column. I don't have a book for this van yet because we're in between paychecks and that's why I'm here. Can anyone help confirm the dealers findings?:shakehead

Thanks.

I had an 86 ford F250 that the fuel pump shorted out and burned up the wiring going to the pump. It never burned out the fuse. Maybe that was your smell ?

I changed the fuel pump and the fuel filters and tripped the fuel safety switch. I changed the cap, plugs, wires, and rotor. there is fuel getting to the efi rails and the pressure is good but the darn thing will just not fire. Do I need to replace the computer on my van or just take it out back and use it for target practice? Please help if you can.
