Hi to everyone in this forum, I don't post much here, but this message applies. I have a 97 civic that is lowered 2.5" on coil overs and sitting on 17" rims. The problem is, my camber is off to far and I can't get my car aligned AND i'm probably going to have to buy new tires VERY soon. So my question is this: What should I do? :confused:

a) raise the car up (and if so, to what?)
b) buy a camber kit (which i don't have the money for)
c) raise it up for now until i get a camber kit later
d) something else (specify)

I LOVE the way my civic looks at 2.5" which is why I didn't just say "hey, i'll just pick it back up." However, my dad is angry about all this crap. :mad: It's helping to prove his theory that "modifying that damn car is stupid." Any suggestions would be great. :D

common sense says: "raise it up since you have coilovers, then buy a camber kit and drop it again"

that's what i decided earlier today. i figured it would only be a few weeks before i could afford the camber kit, so it wouldn't be too bad. it was just kinda hard to make myself do that, i've been waiting over a year for rims (it's a long story.) i'm putting back on the stock wheels tomorrow and raising it back to 0" until camber kit comes in. but now i have another question. i know that a camber kit will raise the car a little bit becuz it is sitting more perpindicular. should i get a 3º camber kit and drop it all the way to 3 inches?

whatever a camber kit does to raise the car will not be noticeable.

in the case of the civic camber kits, i have never heard of them dramatically "raising" the vehicle. basically, the upper A arms are replaced with adjustable units that can slide in and out, changing the camber of the hub knuckle.

you but you gotta figure, just the fact that its sitting more level would push it up a little bit. i'm not worried bout it though. i also thought of another idea later today, but i'm not sure. what exactly is the lowest you can go w/o needing a camber kit? I've heard 1,1.5,2 and even 2.5, what i thought i could do is just pull the car up to 2" rather than 2.5 if that would help anything. what makes me kind of angry is that the store i bought both my wheels and coils from told me that if it was at 2.5 with the rims it wouldn't need a camber kit. I might be taking it down to the shop tomorrow to get their opinion on it. thanx for your help!
