97 Ford Expedition O2 sensor

The engine light had been on about 4 weeks ago (I ran the tank almost to empty) and after filling the tank with gas (Chevron) the check engine light went off. I read that the check engine light can come on if the fuel tank gets too empty and abnormal vapor pressure is detected; filling the tank is suppose to clear that problem.

Now the check engine light is on again and after I took the truck in to check thecodes, 136 and 141 came back, which is suppose to be the bank 1 O2 sensor.

Should I reset the ECM first to see if it clears the problem? I read that taking the positive terminal off the battery for 15 min. will reset the ECM.

How hard is it to replace the sensor myself? I can do regular maintenence work (brakes, oil, radiator) but have never done this particular job.

ok winterlike this is a honda forum and u have a ford.. but i reccomend not to take the battery off because one u reset ur obd2 and ecu which means ur ecu has to relearn ur drive cycle which means u might waste gas and if the code says o2 sensor then replace it with a new one just make sure u use a oxy sensor socket otherwise u can break ceramic in new o2 sensor and probably when u ran the truck on empty u will pick up particles on the bottom of tank and contaminate o2 sensor is like a big spark plug just have patience and u will have it changed in 30 mins tops... just make sure u change the right one too because there are mor than one.. hence bank one means left side of engine and bank two means right engine and then u have one after cat too so have fun and patience and ull be fine.. and u reset mil with code scanner

The codes you posted are not valid for your vehicle. You should have something like P0xxx or a P1xxx. Please have the code read again and post the exact code.
