Hi all,
The engine is a 3.8L in an 01 Regal and I've got oil in my radiator! I've read up on these engines and they're notorious for the intake mani gaskets as well as the intake itself to give. I checked around the intake mani and its all wet, either from oil or coolant. I also did a compression check and they avg. 140-150 psi. I'm pretty sure the head gaskets are okay, so I plan to change the upper and lower gaskets, as well as the intake manifold. My question is this: Are the oil and coolant ports near each other in the intake manifold (close enough for oil to leak in the coolant)??? Thanks for any pointers all!!!

Yes. Symptoms will vary. Oil in cooling system, coolant in oil or just either an external or internal coolant loss. Visit the Buick Tips & Maintenance forum which has some helpful info on UIM/LIM jobs.
