has anyone ever eliminated the a/c compressor and rerouted the serp. belt? can this be done? have a granddaughter away at college and would like to get car back home to fix the a/c. it is a 2001 olds. aurora 4.0 eng. thanks

I have a 95 (not sure if the belt route is the same) and found a thread on here that gave a belt number. I think it was a 74.5 inch belt (74 is too small) and bypassed the AC. It went right on and still running.

are u sure its 74.5 becuase im looking to elliminate the ac compressor as well ??thank you
